Contact lenses – Can you wear contact lenses after cataract surgery?

Lots of people prefer contact lenses to wearing glasses, and, wearing your contact lenses again after cataract surgery is absolutely fine, as long as enough time has passed to allow the eye to heal.

The time it takes for your eye to heal after you’ve had cataract surgery will vary, but it usually takes a maximum of 6 weeks. After six weeks have passed, following on from your cataract surgery, it will be perfectly safe for you to wear contact lenses again.
